The Minecraft modding community is huge! On CurseForge alone, there are more than 86,000 mods to choose from. Some are small and sweet, while others are big and could change the game. But there are so many that it might take a lot of work to choose the best ones. So, you should try Modpacks, a group of mods put together in one pack and made to work well with each other. It can be hard to pick the best Minecraft Modpack, but that’s why we’re here to help. You’ll find the 16+ best Minecraft Modpacks listed below, each with a short description. Also, if this is your first time using a Modpack, I’ll show you how to install one at the end of the article. So let’s get started without further ado.
16+ Best Minecraft Modpacks To Try In 2022
I chose these Minecraft Modpacks because they give you a lot of different ways to play. You’ll find ones with RPG elements, ones that improve vanilla, ones about the zombie apocalypse, and many more.
1. Pixelmon
Love Pokemon? Then you should get a Modpack. This Modpack gives you a lot of new Pokemon to catch. It also has more mods, like the popular Biomes O’Plenty, Journey mod, and more. But you can play this game with others! Many servers are used only for one thing. And there were a lot more things you could do on those servers. You can, for example, trade with or fight other trainers. So get your friends together and start your Pokemon adventure today.
2. RLCraft
Dream and PewDiePie are just two well-known YouTubers who have played RLCraft. This Modpack has a bad reputation for being one of the hardest Modpacks out there. Why? Well, it’s because of a lot of things. First, the survival game mode has been changed. Now you’ll have to stay hydrated, cool, or warm. Also, eating food won’t help you get better. And if that wasn’t hard enough, this Modpack has tough enemies like Ice & Fire’s aggressive dragons and a lot more. So, if you want to challenge yourself, this Modpack is what you need.
3. Mineshafts & Monsters
You want an RPG adventure. Then you need this Modpack! You’ll go to places no one has ever been before and fight many monsters as you follow a well-planned questline. Your objective is the same as in the vanilla game: defeating the Ender Dragon, but the game works slightly differently. When you first spawn the world, you’ll have to build the villagers’ trust and get better gear. Then, as the battle goes on, you’ll start a colony and get ready to fight the ender dragon. You can also install the Lite Version on PCs that are not as powerful.
4. Better Minecraft
Better Minecraft is the next Minecraft Modpack on our list. As the names imply, this Modpack is meant to improve the experience you play Minecraft. The world has been completely changed by adding new biomes, dungeons, structures, and many other things. You’ll play the same game, but there will be much more to do. For example, you’ll have to deal with new types of pillagers, trade with villagers who have new jobs, grow tomatoes and rice, and tame the ender dragon. You can have hours of fun!
5. Engineer’s Life 2
Like to build machines and play with Redstone? If so, you’re going to love this Modpack. You can build new machines, like elevators, multi-block blast furnaces, windmills, and much more here. So there’s a lot to enjoy for everyone.
6. OriginsSMP
OriginsSMP is a completely new way to experience the game. Origins, one of the most popular Fabric mods, is the main mod for this Modpack. You can live there as a different kind of species, each with its strengths and weaknesses. You can also try out other great mods like Better End and Nether, Oh The Biomes You’ll Go, Repurposed Structures, and many more. All of this gives you a lot of hours to spend your time and new things to try.

BlockFront is one of the best multiplayer Minecraft Modpacks. You will fight other players in a unique World War II-themed world. You must finish missions, destroy enemy interest points, and move up in rank until you become a general. You’ll have guns, tanks, airstrikes, and more in your arsenal. So this Modpack is for you and your friends if you’re tired of the same old FPS games.
8. Fabulously Optimized
This Modpack is not like the others. Rather than adding brand new items, biomes, and mobs, it makes your game run faster. So this is best for people with low-end PCs who want to start modding their world. But there are also a few mods that make life better. For example, the game will have great features like dynamic lights, the fog that can be changed, zoom, and more.

For the Minecraft players who want to live in the 21st century, TownCraft is one of the best Minecraft Modpacks. With the power of Minecolonies and many other mods, you can build everything a modern city needs. Of course, these are all the vehicles, like planes, trains, and cars. You can also build freeways and decorations that look like PCs. So there’s a lot to explore! But you’ve to make sure you have a strong computer. For the first version of this Modpack, you need at least 7 GB of RAM. For TownCraft Two, you need 9–10 GB of RAM.
10. Minecolonies
The Minecolonies Modpack aims to let you build settlements in your world. You can build towns with lots of NPC workers like Builders, Crafters, Farmers, Guards, and many more. So, if you like games like SimCity and Cities Skylines that let you build cities, this is one of the best Minecraft Modpacks.

This Minecraft Modpack is for you if you want to bring balance to the force or join the dark side and rule the galaxy.
17. All of Fabric 4
The Fabric 4 is a Modpack that combines all the best mods for fabric. It’s challenging to believe how many new features there are. How many? The next on our list of the best Minecraft Modpacks is PwrDown’s RPG. It’s a collection of numerous amazing mods that turn your Minecraft world into a roleplaying game. You will go through a lot of new biomes and find dungeons. But the game is a bit more challenging. For example, you can only wear diamond armor or use complex blocks after you get them. Instead, you’ll have to get better at it. So, if you want a new way to defeat the Ender Dragon, this Modpack is for you.
20. Avatar: 100 Days
Enjoy watching Avatar: The Last Airbender? If so, you might like this Modpack. You can start bending all four elements: earth, water, fire, and air. A YouTuber named ButterJaffa made the Modpack a hardcore challenge. You can learn to bend the elements, but you must be careful. For example, you can now be found by zombies and other mobs by the smell of your blood. Also, as time goes on, they become crueler. So, if you are looking for a challenge and want to bend the four elements, this Modpack is for you.
What Exactly Are Modpacks?
Still trying to figure out what Modpacks are. Don’t worry; I’ll get you through this! A Modpack, as the name suggests, is a collection of different mods. Most of the time, they are a bit more than that. Most of the time, the person who made the Modpack changed them to work well together. For example, before version 1.17, many tech mods added copper to the game. So instead of using different kinds of copper for different recipes, you only use one type of copper ore. But that’s not even the beginning. Well, the best Minecraft Modpacks change their main menus, add quests, and new advancements, change mob AI, and do much more.
How To Easily Install Minecraft Modpacks?
It’s easy to set up Minecraft Modpacks. But, first, you must follow the three steps, and you’ll be playing them in no time! But before you do that, make sure that you’ve installed CurseForge.
Find Modpack & Press “Install”
First, you need to find the Modpack you want. Go to the curse forge site to find yours. That is the biggest mod and Modpack library out there. Mineshafts & Monsters is the game I’ll be installing for this example. The page should look like this once you’ve chosen your Modpack. Then, proceed to the upper right corner, where you’ll see an orange button called “Install.” Go to the next step by clicking it.
Download & Install Modpack
Now, the page on the left should be in front of you. When you get there, your browser will ask you to open CurseForge. If you let it do that, you’re pretty much done! Now you have to wait until everything has been downloaded and set up.
Start Playing
When you move your mouse over the Modpack after downloading everything, you should see an orange button with the word “Play” on it. When you click that button, Minecraft will start up. Now you can begin playing the game. But before we get to the list, I have one more thing to say. Your game might load a little slower and freeze up a few times. Even if it takes some minutes to load, that’s normal. For example, Mineshafts & Monsters took me four minutes to load.
The Bottom Line:
And here is my list of the 16+ best Minecraft Modpacks. I hope you found a Modpack that speaks to you and gives you a new way to experience Minecraft. So, which Modpack do you like the most? Please leave a comment; I’d love to hear from you. But, of course, Mineshafts & Monsters is my favorite.
